About
Mia Earls is an American painter based in Washington, D.C. She studied Fine Art and Entrepreneurship at Pepperdine University, receiving the Outstanding Graduate and Service Award in Art. Her work has been featured in The Orchard at the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art and Spukhaus at The Anderson in Richmond, VA. In 2025, she completed a residency in Buenos Aires, Argentina, further refining her practice as she prepares to apply for MFA programs.
Earls’ work draws from Renaissance and Neoclassical traditions, adopting their grandeur and sculptural forms while subverting historical narratives. Influenced by her upbringing in a family of athletes, her early paintings idealized the human form. Her recent work shifts focus to themes of vulnerability and resilience, exploring how societal pressures shape women’s identities. Through large-scale oil paintings, she examines the tension between glorification and objectification, challenging rigid gender roles and the normalization of sexualization.
